Limerick Masters Long Course Gala!

Dear Masters Swimmers,
Limerick City has been chosen for the
prestigious award of European City of Sport
2011 and Limerick Masters SC are proud to
announce that the Limerick Masters Long
Course Open Grand Prix Gala will be held at the
University of Limerick 50m Arena Swimming
Pool, on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5th
March 2011.
This year we planning to offer a full program of
events with the 1500M on the Friday evening,
followed by a full program all day Saturday.
The closing date for the receipt of the 1500M
freestyle event is the 4th Feburary and for all
other entries, Friday the 18th February 2011. We
hope to be able to offer all competitors the
events they wish to enter but due to time
constraints and entry numbers, we may have to
limit the number of competitors and heats in
some events.
Team awards and two new awards in the 1500m
and 50m Freestyle events will be awarded at the
end of the gala.
The Gala Dinner & Disco will take place on the
Saturday evening at the Absolute Hotel and
their contact details are attached should you
wish to book accommodation. We hope you
avail of this opportunity to meet fellow
competitors and friends after the gala.

Are there qualifying times for each category and event?
I'm half thinking about competing at this, haven’t swam a gala in a few years and just wondering what times the top few are getting.

I think there's only a qualifying time on the 1500 freestyle. I think everything else is open.

Sorry I might be wrong, it says in the program qualifying times "may" apply

hi guys, I checked with the organisers at our training session last night and there is no qualifying times. However there is a cut off point and once the event is full entry is closed, so if you would like to do the 1500 you need to get your details in ASAP!
