Wanted Shimano Sora STI 8 speed shifter

Folks,
I need a Shimano Sora STI 8 speed shifter, in the Kildare town area. Can not believe how much they are new my bike isn't worth that.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have a pair of 8 speed Sora triple shifters, a little used, one or two small scratches but nothing major, will try to get some pics up tomorrow, looking for €90 for the pair. Would you be interested?

Also have same pair but in not so good condition (but working fine) if you're looking for something cheaper (€45-50ish). Agreed shifters are crazy money.

Sorry glencarrig out of my league, hope you have luck some where.
Bikenut I would be be prepared to pay €30 for the 8 speed only, don't need the triple. I'm around Kildare town so is there away we could meet up.

I am interested in the Sora shifters. My bike has a double chainring - I presume it's feasible to use triple shifters on a double chainring.

I'll offer 75 Euros for them -where are you based? I'm in Dublin 6.

Sorry paddie9, for €30 I might as well hang on to them - doubt I'd ever sell the triple on its own. You'd probably get the right on it's own for less than you'll get any pair 2nd hand.

Hi Bobby, the 8 speed Sora triple cannot be used for a double, thats why I have them for sale, I changed my bike to a compact, only the newer 9 speed Sora shifters are compatible with double....according to the boffins in Cyclesuperstore anyway!!

Regarding the triple shifter being compatible with a double, I'd imagine a sligt adjustment would do it. May be an extra click.

Im pretty sure i have a set of sora shifters hanging about in the garage somewhere, would be happy to sell either / or / both of them.

I have a pair of Sora shifters. 8spd rear and double front.

I also have a R500 right hand rear 8 spd shifter, which is not part of a groupset, but i think is equivalent to 105 but 8spd. Its different to the Sora because it has the second blade for releasing instead of the thumb button (which personally i prefer) and i think it has a better action. All in good condition with no scratches, just minor usage marks.

e50 for the R500 or e40 for each of the Soras or I can do a deal if you want the pair.
