Chatham House Rule of confidentiality

    I no this is not suited to this part of the site but i cant find where it should be so i would be greatful for someone to move it to the right place

    I know what the Chatham House Rule of confidentiality is but im curious on if you attand a meeting with that rule in effect, what happens if you break it?

    It doesn't have a legal standing, if that's what you mean.

    It is simply an agreement held amongst those attending a meeting where some level of confidentiality is desired, or where a standard of confidentiality is routinely expected within an organisation. For example the recent Fianna Fail leadership meeting would have been held along these lines.
