Did you order it to a UK postcode? If no, you are unlikely to get it.

Yes it's heading to my mates house in Essex, just sent him a text to see if it got to him, no joy yet.

Took about two weeks. The payment went from the credit card about a week after ordering.

What is the difference between the irish EPG and UK, or should i say NI EPG?

No RTE is not included on the Sky Free Sat, You would have to either use analogue aerial to get stations or purchase a saorview enabled TV or Sat receiver to get RTE.

Sky Free sat will only give you typical Uk stations such as bbc's itv's and channel 4's etc.

if I get a freesat from sky card will the epg still list all of the channels I won't have access to like Sky Atlantic etc does anyone know? Or will it only show the channels available to me?

lists them all, but says this channel is unavailble etc.

bit of a pain when searching through channels.

You will not receive RTE. On a Sky/Sky+ box you will get some extra channels (Sky 3, Fiver, Five USA, Viva) and Five will be on the EPG. On a Sky HD box you will also get Channel 4 HD – but this will be free to air from April anyways.

Sky HD boxes will now default to the Irish EPG if no card is inserted. Previously, it would default to the UK EPG (with all the UK channels listed). Having a Freesat from Sky card inserted will prevent the Irish EPG loading.

Yes – all channels will still be listed. That’s one way of getting Sky to tempt you into subscribing!

I never rang sky when I got my card as the uk epg loaded when I put the card in.

I am not getting C4hd Tcm or sky3 do I still have to ring sky in order for these channels to work?

    Thanks again.

TCM is a subscription channel. You will not get that with a FTV card.

The card will load the UK EPG regardless. Sounds like this card is not activated. If its not, the FTV channels its meant to decode (Sky 3, CH4HD, Five HD, Five USA, Fiver, Viva, LFC TV etc) will not be viewable. You will need to contact Sky to activate it.

Must be careful now though. Hide your phone number when ringing them. If they see its an Irish number they'll get suspicious! Remember these FTV cards are for the UK only. As you said in post #3, the card was posted to your friend's address in Essex. You would want to know his address, postcode and phone number he gave when buying this card online.

You may be asked for all 3 of them in order for Sky to activate the card.

Cheers mate I rang them a while ago off private and gave my mates addy etc, worked a treat and now have C4hd five etc.

    Thanks for the advice
