I'm watching 2 small specks just before posting.
1 was at approx 1.5 diameters away about 4 o' clock to Jupiter clock face .
The second speck was about 3 or 4 diameters away at about 10 o' clock.

    (Using 15x70 binos in Dublin)

Sweet - the binos cost me 40 lids new on adverts.ie
That bloke in Rathcoole is apparently importing them directly - God bless China.

Yup. You saw Callisto and Ganymede, the two largest Jovian moons:

    Cheers namloc.
I notice another speck on the image you posted at about 10 o'clock just outside Jupiter.
Is that also a moon or simply a feature ?
Only reason I ask is Jupiter wasn't uniform through the binos - there appeared to be a blob sticking out at about 10 o clock.

First decent night in a while in Dub.
Anyway, I've a stable but configurable framework set up (consisting of the kids slide with a space-hopper [ironically] wedged in the top supporting the binoculars.)

It looks like there are 4 moons approx. in a row now - although the bottom right one is relatively far away.

I've heard there may be times some of the moons cast a shadow over Jupiter ?

That's one of Jupiter's other moons, Europa.
