Hi, I bought 'Windows 7 Ultimate DVD' from ebay. It came with all security features like that of a legitimate DVD. It had COA - Certificate of Authenticity. The key was inside the wrapped case. The DVD had all the security features (I compared it with features listed on ‘www.howtotell.com/uk’ and all checks passed. I installed Windows 7 and it activated without any hitch. But since 18-Jan-11, my machine refuses to activate and complains that the key was blacklisted. What can I do ? Regards

Unfortunately it sounds like may have been swindled. The DVD might be genuine but if key isn't then you can't use the software, because you're buying a licence to use the software rather than an actual copy of the software.

If you still think that Microsoft have blacklisted the key by mistake then you could give them a call and try and resolve it that way. But I wouldn't hold out too much hope. :(

Don't buy software from eBay. There are too many cowboys and pirates on it.

Contact Microsoft and discuss it with them.
They will go after the the guy quite aggressively.

And tell you that they only support software supplied from an authorized reseller.

Report it to eBay, as far as I know it's illegal to sell Microsoft products on eBay..
