So, the finance bill...if it collapses now, what happens to the finace bill? Do Fine Gael and Labour have an alternative?

    How many years too late?

Still though, it would mean an earlier election which we all want so I'll be happy if they do. That won't save them though!

If they don't after the contempt this Govt have show to the country this morning alone then they should be locked up on the grounds of gross stupidity.

People have gone beyond anger now. We are a laughing stock internationally - Bloomberg are reporting our Govt are gone missing - this is beyond a disgrace.

The Greens obviously have no respect for themselves let alone the people!

Enough is enough with this shower of vile bastards - and Eamon O'****ing Quiv laughing with his permanent grin throughout the shambles this morning.

People need to flood the Twitter pages of morons like Gogary and Boyle and express this anger. If they don't walk today it is time to take to the streets. This farse cannot continue. It is ruining the dignity of this country and making us look like morons internationally. I am ****ing infuriated.:mad::mad::mad:

It was suspended just after 11.30AM until 1.30PM. I was watching it on RTE. Pure car crash T.V.

John Drennan on Newstalk just called Cowen an idiot.

In fairness, the Greens are always having these meetings, and it's always the same result. The Greens have cried wolf too many times - I no longer pay attention when these sort of meetings are organised.

I think they've finally had enough though. Nonetheless, we'll know at one o'clock when the news comes on.

I just saw the Gardai escorting the Presidents car across Kevin Street from Stephens Green direction. There was another car, but I couldn't see who was in it...

    Here's to hoping...

Yeah it's very much a case of I'll believe it when I see it. We live in hope!

    greens not pulling out YET

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭kev9100

I've said this before, but i really don't think the Greens understand the severity of the situation. They still believe that if they just hang on in there the public will change their mind about them and their masters FF. Obviously, thats pure BS. I just can't see Gormley having the guts to abondon FF.

RTE One saying that they might not walk if the Taoiseach agrees to double jobbing by existing Ministers. This is a complete and utter farce, it is obvious now that the Government are no longer functioning and an immediate General Election is the only way to facilitate the countries business at this time of crisis.

If I were Trevor Sargent I'd walk right now. He prob has a chance at re-election. Gogarty probably doesn't so passive aggressive tweets are the best he can do. Then if the government stays he can say ''well I'm proud we enacted important legislation'' when he quits.

Can understand(whilst hating) their position. Pull the plug now their legacy will be ''propped up worst government in the history of the state and achieved nothing''
