The voiceover is so brutal I almost switched off but it looks kind of interesting actually.

Looks quite good actually. There was a bit of filmed down the road from where I lived in Belfast too, think I spied a bit of it during the trailer.

Poor Pete Postlethwaite looks good in this.Overall movie looks good but as usual trailer gives too much away.

It stars Robert Sheehan (from Misfits) so that alone will make me wanna see it :p

I had heard about this film but had not seen the trailer. The voiceover's terrible but it actually looks good for a laugh. "Ya want a Bono badge? I do in me bollocks" :)

I don't watch them, but it's becoming harder and harder to avoid them no with longer times devote to trailers at the cinema etc. Why do they give so much away - I would actually not mind trailers if they were very subtle.

It is worth avoiding trailers though, most times when I go to the cinema I have no idea what the movie is about and so can watch it with no preconceived notions of what it's about or ten clips of the best bits already seen from the trailer.

    Boycott them I say.

Saw it last night. Was hilarious for a laugh but extremely unfair to Neil McCormick in my view. He never screwed his brother out of being in the band and he never turned down a support gig. He's actually a friend of Bono's, and the only part of his story which is vaguely true is that he did turn down the offer of being on U2's record label, not out of jealousy but because the music he and his bro were writing was straight up pop and they didn't think it would fit in well with what U2 were doing. Years later he asked Bono if he could take up the offer and U2's response was that the label had indeed gone in a different direction so it wouldn't fit. But there wasn't any begrudgery about it.

His brother was actually in the band for a week or two but drifted away from it a bit like Dick Evans did.

I'm going by the book, BTW, which is one of the funniest things you'll ever read. One of the main disappointments for me in the movie was that they left out the whole backstory of the Virgin Prunes, who going by the book would have made an absolutely hilarious dramatization.

Excellent movie and extremely funny, just don't go into it expecting to see a true story. It very, very vaguely alludes to some things which actually happened, but that's it. (Incidentally, Neil McCormick was actually the interviewer and writer of U2 By U2, do you think he would have done that if he didn't get on with them?!

Very like The Social Network, fantastic movie, but continuing the trend of dramatizations which utterly asassinate someone's character by only telling half of the story and completely fabricating other parts of it :D
