It was done to make the loadbed long enough to be imported as a commercial, standard Defender 110 crewcab loadbeds are very small.

It does look ungainly and spending all that money on extras doesn't add to the value although half of what is listed is standard. He would have been better off buying a 130 crew cab which is commercial out of the box and as they are rare here, they do hold their value. I have seen similar mods for the Dutch market which also has funny commercial rules (ever see a Defender or Disco with an extra high roof, it's probably Dutch)

It's a Tdci, not a Td5, has the Ford Puma engine.

thanks Sean....apologies re the engine spec. How could I?

Surely it devalues the car to extrames by cutting /shutting it even with a pro job?

Anyway best of luck to seller......

Hard to say, Defenders is a bit of a funny market especially here. With the current taxing issues he may struggle as it being that shiny and new, I don't think it will be bought as a workhorse by a business but you never know. In the UK it would sell pretty quickly where conversions by Foleys and Nene Overland are common

Can't imagine they'll be queueing up to drop €35k for it though.

That's a lot like a Defender 130 (130" wheelbase). Why did he not just go the whole hog and get a 130 if all that expense was required?
