Cant decide between 2 x 29er's, one has mech disc brakes, the other hydraulic (Promax).

Anybody know what the pros and cons of both are?

What's the cost difference between them? If they are anyway close, go for the hydraulic, purely from a maintenance point of view. Mechanical brakes need regular adjustment when the pads wear (each ride) whereas hydraulic brakes self adjust.

Hydraulic are generally more powerful brakes also, however power depends massively on the diameter of your disc rotors

    Hope this helps.

Go the extra bit for the better bike. It will pay for itself in no time...
