I am desperate for long hair. I have had it cropped up now for about 2 years, and im SICK of it! ive tried many times to just let it grow, but when my hair gets to that awkward in between stage, im like a Beatle circa 1966!!!! i just cant stand it, it looks awful and i just have to get it cut again!!! the past 3 haircuts ive gotten i have NOT been happy with them (very good cuts, but just dont suit me!!), and my hair is so thick that it clipping it back and using hairbands etc looks weird and i look like an old maid!!! Now my hair is about 4 inches on the top of my head, and about an inch and a half at the back and the sides.
Does anyone know about any kind of shampoo or something that can help hair grow??? (fingers crossed :D)
is my hair too short for extensions???
or any helpful tips from anyone who has the same problem?? :)
thanks a mill in advance! :)))

Don't mean to hijack the thread but is putting shampoo and conditioner in your hair everyday damaging to it?

I don't think so, my friend washes her hair every day and shampoo's and conditions it and her hair is in great condition!

Lush have a solid shampoo (can't think of the name of it atm) that apparently promotes hair growth. I dunno if it works though, as I've never used it.

Don't go for too long without trimming your hair, which was the huge mistake I made when trying to grow my hair out - it'll just split and get into really bad condition if you go for ages without a trim, and you'll end up having to cut off more than you've grown. As for the thickness, get it thinned out every few months when you're getting it cut, it makes such a difference if you've too much hair!

Without meaning to be harsh you need to get over that awkward stage of a month or so to get past that length. I cut mine short and experienced that stage that nothing I'd do would suit me. Try the remedies others have suggested and get into styling your hair. If all else fails, be interesting and wear hats. Seriously hats can be awesome.

nah not harsh at all! :) ive just absolutely no patience for it! but this time im seriously determined! my last hair cut cost me a ridiculous 56 euro!!!! and that was a big wake up call! but started using the Lee Strafford Hair growth treatment mask that Moco suggested and absolutely no doubt your hair feels amazing after it! really strong and soft! i love it! and maybe its just my hopeful imagination, but i think it has grown the tiniest little bit and used it for about 5 hair washes over a week or so! Ive also started eating extra extra extra healthy, making sure im gettin all my vitamins! :)
@shell10 - i found out the other day that your hair has to be at least 4 or 5 inches (i think)all over your head for extensions, but goin to start thinkin bout those when i get my hair to about my shoulders id say! but i saw a girl today in town with the most gorgeous blonde hair down to her bum (totally not real! but i was still sick with jealousy :D)

Thanks again for all your replies!all the support is making me feel much better! :)

My hair is exactly the same. I had it almost shaven on the back and one side in may. It's about six inches at the longest layers and three inches at the shortest.

It's awful, I can spend ages doing my make-up and picking a dress but it doesn't matter because I've a haircut comparable to Oscar Wilde's. It's okay if I'm not going clubbing though, I just wear a nice hat or chunky headband.

Feels like its taking forever, I can almost get it into a pony now though :)
