    There with drug-filled bells on!

What a weekend; I broke out in a big grin today when I realised it's barely 4 months away. The line-up accouncements began in February last year, so hopefully we'll know a few acts by the end of next month.

Anyone know if the €89 early-bird tickets are still available? Are there really only 300 or is that just a marketing gimmick.

The lineup won't start being announced till about mid February. It's pretty stellar every year though. But...

I've heard a rumour (which is hopefully all it is) that two of the main acts to be announced first will be from the Ed Banger label. Say it ain't so :(

Got my ticket anyway; €99 in the second-round presales. TBH I'd have paid Oxegen prices rather than miss this.

If they book an ed banger act [a ****e label which is dead since 2008] as one of the headliners, that will be a ****ing disgrace. A psytrance / techno / ambient festival booking a ****ty ****ing electro-house act? Cúntish

I was figuring some of these names were familiar as I was at the 2008 one which was probably the most reggae inspired one and the last one in Galway.
I remember also catching Sphongle and Hallucinogen who were superb, same guy I think.

im waiting to hear myself, thinking of hitting life this year but id like to know the lineup before i get my ticket.they seem to be very slow in releasing it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

the launch party is on Friday April 1st, so presumably they'll release it then.

still, only leaves 1 payday for lots of people between the lineup announcement, and the actual festival itself, for people waiting on the lineup before getting a ticket, or convincing friends to get tickets...

guys i have been to life for the last 4 years in a row and i can assure you its not all about the music, dont know if you all read the blurb that they released when people were asking for a line up about how its all about community peace love blah blah ****ing blah but trust me its the best festival ive ever been to and i cant.

I haven't been since it's moved from Gort. I'd wanted to go this year but I'd say John Digweed (and it's current location) could attract a different sort of clientele to this one :(

Just got sorted with a volunteering job at the festival, so looking forward to this next weekend. I have a rough idea of the duties expected of me but if anyone has done volunteering before for this or any other fests, could you explain a bit about your experience, what is expected is there a bit of hard graft. This is my first time volunteering so bare with me, it beats sitting about the house all the day waiting for that elusive job.

Should be a great experience, I've always had a blast volunteering,
just be as friendly and helpfull as you can.

Get to know the layout of the site, as people will expect you to know where everthing is if you're wearing the vest, people are generally good humored at festivals and always up for a laugh and a bit of banter!

Try not be too hungover for the morning shift, and dont show up wasted.

If anyone is going down from Galway in Thursday afternoon, be you a trader, volunteer or security or whatever please pm me, I need a lift, will chip in for fuel etc... Otherwise I will have to get 3 buses to get there, Galway to Kinnegad by Citylink, the Dublin - Sligo Bus Eireann bus to Mullingar and finally the shuttle bus to the festival site.
