Taped spring guide question????

A few days ago i tried various different ways to silence my spring bolt action sniper. The best and most effective thing i did was to WRAP A THIN LAYER OF MASKING TAPE AROUND THE SPRING GUIDE to stop the noise of the spring. It now sits tighter on the spring guide aswell. I was just thinking, is this a bad idea?

I am afraid that the spring will cut into the tape and little bits of masking tape will get all over the inside of the bolt and down into the trigger meck and damage the gun.

    Thanks
    Tommy

might do that, ida used electrical tape tbh. Reason its rattles around is whoever downgraded it did so with a spring chop, a correct length spring at 328 wouldnt rattle. (if you want to see how to silence an airsoft sniper rifle cheapy read my reply in the silencer question.

use electrical tape to do the same thing on my svd, cuts out a lot of the metal on metal noise, works rather well
