Rent discount question?

Quick query folks. On St.Stephans day because of the cold weather a pipe burst above our front room and a good 2meter squared portion of the ceiling collapsed causing the carpet to get soaked nd having to be ripped up. Now thankfully no-one was injured or nothing major was destroyed but its coming up to a month now and still no sign of a carpet or the roof being fixed.

On a side note the washing machine is also not working since middle december and a light switch in the kitchen has ocasionally being giving us shocks.

The landlord rang yesterday and we asked him what kind of discount in rent we were looking at, he was suprised we even wanted a discount. Iv been advised we should be getting a month off so what do ye think?

ps. The landlord has known since day 1 about all these problems

If you're getting shocks off the light switch (assuming they aren't just standard static electric shocks) you really ought to just move out since the place's wiring seems to be dodgy as feck.

Roasted alive while sleeping as a house fire rages anyone?
