    hi there,

if the water is being cut off by the local coco from 6pm to 6am...

if someone takes a shower at 5.50pm does this mean that the tank will be more than likely empty and not have time to recharge fully before the water goes off? this means that there'll be no water to flush toilets, run the hot taps, etc ?

    thanks

it depends on a few things

the water pressure filling the tank

how long you take a shower for :)

to be sure I would allow 30mins before cut off

Have a quick shower and you should be alright for the night. Sometimes the water doesn't actually get cut off completely ,depends on where you are on the supply.

another quick one on this. water has been off for 4 days due to burst trunk mains on group scheme then problems with air locks on scheme mains.
water has returned now but half pressure at best. would this be the reason the attic tank is not refilling yet in a dormer house??
also is it safe to use dishwasher which runs of mains??

I have a dormer house and the coco used to turn off water at night til morning and when it came back, pressure was down at sink, but the tank in attic filled all the same. I used the dishwasher as it is connected to the cold water at kitchen sink. But needless to add, don't use dishwasher when water is cut off.:)

From post I put up before, regarding pressure in the attic feed, I was told that it will eventually come back but check that tank is full before using any taps associated with this tank.

I'd say a pumped shower would use about 20-25 litres in less than 5 minutes, your attic tank should have atleast 150 litres so provided it's full to start with there shouldn't be any issue.
