connecting HTC phone to college Wifi

HI all, not great with phones and i'm wondering if it's possible to change the proxy settings to the the college wifi. similiar to changing the proxy setting on IE on a laptop? cant seem to find where to change the proxy setting. thanks for any help

if you are running Android, at the moment there is no way around it, can't manually configure the proxy.

if you are using windows mobile i am not sure really
