    Does any one no of a diesel engine that will go into a 1998 honda crv petrol?

    You'd me mad to do it, would be an awful ball ache and the wiring etc would be a job for a real enthusiastic auto spark who is also fairly gifted. I would say the answer, realistically is no. (although anything is possible if you spend enough)

    The Rover L series went in Hondas of that era.

    if your engine is fecked the easiest would be to put the exact same engine back in. and even then you are putting enough work on your plate

    A 98 CRV is worth quite small money too so whatever the motivation it won't pay off.

    As has been said, its a pointless excersize. Honda didn't make any diesel engines at that time so any engine from another manufacturer would have to have its mountings, wireing, fuel supply etc etc all custom fabricated which would come to several times what the car is worth.

    Well any engine change has to use the gearbox from the doner engine, otherwise you'd be into custom/modifying bellhousings too.
