Tiredness after swimming?

My dad is baffled because whenever he swims in his gym pool even for as little as 10 minutes of very light swimming he comes out dog tired and needs to sleep. After a light afternoon swim there is no way he can reach the evening without having to go to bed. On days he doesnt go swimming he is fine in the evenings. He feels he has to give it up at this stage which would be a shame as he has always enjoyed swimming. Its been happening for nearly a year now progressivly getting worse. He's gone to the doctor did bloods and is fine.

He's a non drinker/smoker 60+ year old and can do other excercise like walking for a few miles and still be fresh after it but it seems any amount of time spent in a pool and his eyes involuntarily start to close with the tiredness soon after getting out.

Anyone else get or hear of a similar type of lethargy after swimming or have any suggestions on what might be related to this tiredness?.
I googled it but didnt find much other than this. Im wondering could it be attributed to colrene or bacteria in the pool?.

What is the pool temperature like? For me, if the pool water is very warm, I'm quite tired after I get out.

I agree, if the pool is too warm its like swimming through treacle and your really tired after it.
