Saab 1.9Tid / Vectra Cdti / Fiat JTDm question...

.....quick question: I have an 06 Saab 9-3 1.9Tid 150bhp, which has developed a flat spot off idle.

Common opinion is that it's MAF or EGR, but no faults showing up on diagnostics, and boost pressure seems to be spot on.

Is there any definitive test for the MAF, anyone ever open one up ?

    Ditto the EGR.

I don't want to spend €150 on a MAF, and then fing out it's the EGR, and vice-versa.

Finally, anyone got the Bosch part no for the MAF ?

    TIA, as they say.......

    egr egr egr egr
Gives lots of problems on these, can be dismantled and cleaned thoroughly, its usually in the solenoid body that it sticks.
MAF gives (form memory) 2khz square wave at idle up to 6ish khz at max revs 5k rpm, egr is easy to block for idle test but usually goes limp if driven.
Also check/clean intake butterfly beside egr, and swirl flap linkage on the inlet manifold (usually not connected and lying one side)

Can you activate egr through scantool and monitor maf readings?

...cool, tks for that: don't have scantool myself - am 'supplementing' the diagnosis for the guy who is.

I might tackle the EGR myself tomorrow night - but I seem to think (from memory...) that it was done at 80k kms.........(now 130k kms...)
