Pointers for getting US Clothes past Customs

    Hi All,

I’m planning to buy a new wardrobe of clothing, most likely through the US websites JCPenney and/or American Eagle.

I have searched this forum, and in order to minimise the possibility of being stopped by customs I have interpreted that I should do the following:

    1. Only order with USPS as the delivery company (which is applicable with JCPenney and American Eagle).
    2. Keep each individual order below €150.

Can I now ask forum regulars the following:

    1. Have I correctly interpreted these instructions?
    2. Is the €150 figure inclusive of delivery charges? (eg Do I calculate my order value by taking invoice total including delivery and converting to Euro using an up to date exchange rate?)
    3. Is there anything else I can do to help minimise the possibility of customs intersecting?

(Also, if you know of any other websites for brandname clothing, I am all ears).

All help, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance for all responses.

Eh, no. Tax evasion is not something we discuss here.

There is a sticky thread at the top of the forum that answers your questions on the limits for VAT and duty. Do not ask how to circumvent the law.
