Summer work in the US without a J1

    Hi,

My friends and I are thinking of going on a J1 this summer, but one of our group is no longer in education, he graduated last year. Is there any way that he could come with us and work in the US?

Judging by the info on the Dublin embassy site, it seems he can either come for 90 days on holiday (and not be allowed to work), or he can arrange to be offered a job by a US-based employer.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks.

That's pretty much it. You need a sponsor. You cannot work on a holiday visa/visa waiver.

MOD EDIT: Please keep the advice nice and legal - you need a visa to work in the US.
