KERBED ALLOY WHEEL

I have an 08 Lexus IS250 and a few months ago Lexus replaced all four wheels due to corrosion.

On Monday evening I ran one wheel against a kerb resulting in a six inch scrape along the rim adjacent to the tyre.

Is it possible to have the wheel restored to its original condition and any recommendations on places in Dublin that could do this.

I got one fixed last year in Collins Engineering in Bray. Was happy enough with the results.

I recently saw self repair kits, think it was on ebay, they got very good reviews... take a look at the below. To be honest, I find the price of getting small flaws rectified down south ridiculous!

to put this into perspective I got an new m sport bumper fitted and sprayed up north 1 year ago for £100, down here they wanted E400-500! youd really wonder why insurance companies down send cars up the north on the car transporters to get the work done, surely they could save a fortune!

There's definitely options out there. Here's another recommendation:

you replaced 2 year old alloys of the same type because the laquer was peeling?:confused::confused::eek:

you could have just got them reconditioned professionally for 40 euro a wheel. which is what you should do with the scrapped alloy now.

Did he not say that Lexus replaced them. Maybe they were in warranty?
