I'd send a very brief FB message. Like 'hi, I meet you and you friend this weekend at .... i would really like to see .... again but never got ...... number. Mine is .... if you wouldnt mind passing it on. Thanks'

By asking the friend to pass on your number your not puttin them into an awkward position, and the person u met can decide to get in contact with u or not.
    Good Luck

worst situation, you get no message back.

If it was me I'd facebook message the friend and ask him to pass my number 087 xxxxxxx onto mr x. than the balls in his court.
