    Greens have a thing against newbuilds anyways so dont hold your breath.

    No. The grants that currently exist are there to encourage people to upgrade our older housing stock.

    The current set of building regs. which any new build is bound by pretty much give you no choice but to install renewables. So why provide grant incentive for something people must do.

    Think of it along the same lines as the current low road tax rates for low emission cars. It's about 3 years since the first batch appeared. Pretty soon everyone will have one. The government mentioned during the budget that these rates will be up for review in 12 months.
