A friend of mine has got us tickets today from a contact in the States which will permit us to attend all 4 rounds of The Masters this year. We plan to fly out on the Tuesday and come back on the Monday after the finish.
Can we fly from Ireland to Atlanta and hire a car and travel onwards to Augusta or can you suggest some other airport? If anyone has been there before can you recommend somewhere nearby to stay ie accommodation. . No time to bring the clubs but hopefully we can witness one of our Irish golfers putting on a Green Jacket.
I was in Carnoustie when P.H. won..so maybe lightning will strike twice!!

Haha, a thinly veiled boast that 'I got tickets to the Masters'.

Yep you can fly direct to Atlanta from Dublin, but I don't think it's s daily service. It's by far the handiest airport you can pick at that end.

If you're staying overnight in Atlanta choose wisely as it's horrible in places.

Rent a car when you get there, it's cheap as chips, and you really can't do anything in the States without a car. You'll be lucky to get a room anywhere within 30 miles of Augusta.

Your best plan would be to bring me with you, I'll sort out at the details re flights, car hire, accomodation etc., no need to burden yourself with all that :D.

Firstly id like to say, you jammy b******
    Secondly, you jammy b******

Never been im afraid but I've read that Augusta is a 3 hour drive from Atlanta. No doubt you will have an amazing time and please report back and let us know how you got on.

Quick question for ye lads - 2 majors are in the state of Georgia this year with the USPGA in Atlanta. Has that ever happened before - 2 majors in one state?? I havnt a clue by the way in case you think I know the answer!

While you're there OP, keep an eye on the members in the green jackets. You never know, you could spot one of them choking on his steak, save him and get an invite to play the course on the monday!

in 2001 the USPGA was on in the same course as this year where DAVID TOMS won his major with great up and down for par on final hole, so i presume the masters was on in AUGUSTA that year aswell!!!!!
