i am determined to grow sweetcorn this year outdoors,as my daughter loves it
i have a spot outside in a circle bed i will grow it in,approx 2 metres in diameter.
i was going to get chicken manure now and lay it on top, cover with black plastic and leave it a few months to rot in/heat up

i will rotovate it in closer to planting time.
i want to sow the seeds indoors to start off and then transplant out

the BIG question is what is the best variety out there to grow?
my mother has grown some in her polytunnel, dont know the name, but they were not too sweet when they were ready

    any ideas which one?

We grew 'incredible' last year - they were lovely and sweet - not huge though. They need a lot of sunlight - and it's best to plant them in blocks rather than rows for pollination. We'll be doing them again this year for definite.
