many thanks for the link liking the colt 1911 a1 and also the beretta m9a1 full metal gas blow back pistol
price wise they look excellent value for money

a set of beretta's would be nice indeed

the TM stuff although not full metal are excellent bits of kit and out shoot pretty much everything out of the box.

As I believe that you are female and like me may have smaller size hands, then let me suggest an alternative
Over the last 2 years I have had a variety of pistols and I find the 1911 series of pistols an bit to long in the grip front to back
The M9 I find is a bit too chunky overall and the Deagle is way to big but I still bought 3 of them and I do love to shoot them and the wife thinks they are sexy, dont get me wrong both the 1911,Deagle and the M9 and beautiful in both shape and form its just that I find them a little on the LARGE side for me

So you may ask just what pistols do I have, well right now I have a KJ Works Glock 32c, a USP Compact by KWA and a Maruzen P99 with 38rnd extended mag
To me the grip size is about perfect for me, all fit me just perfect
I have had several Glocks 17, 18c and 26c all by KWA and as they all can take the same 50rnd extended mag all have a rather chunky grip
The KJ Works Glock 32c grip is a wee bit slimmer and is a much more comfortable fit in the hand as is the USP Compact and P99

By all means go with what you like the look of but if like me you think that comfort in hand which can only lead to more accurate shooting is more important then consider my suggestions

id agree about the p99 used to have one and a lovely gun. As mention the tm meu and tm hicapa are excellent choices (though not metal) as is the tm detonics, its a crackin little pistol i cant tell any difference in performance with this and my tm meu except fps, its the same in terms of range and accuracy (it is based on the 1911) though and is not all metal. If you want something a bit bigger why not get a we browning hi-power (its al metal but probably doesn't shoot as well as the marui's, havent skirmished it yet) got one the other day, really cool and fairly compact. Also for something very different what about a marushin cop357, a modern day 4 barrell deringer there is a fair bit of metal on it (or at least it seems that way on the one i got today, they are pretty cheap too). The ksc USP system 7 i have is alright but, i just think it looks a bit gammy, like glocks or berretas everybody seems to have one (same criticism could be leveled at the 1911's).

I dunno its horses for courses all id say in summation is like everything else they do, marui's might not be full metal and are expensive, they do make crackin stuff, my hi-capas nearly 4 years old now and never given a peep of trouble. it might be boring like the meu but it also works, is very accurate (for a pistol) and despite being mostly plastic does have a lovely finish.

PS my final comment as this has turned into a bit of a ramble, why not consider an alternative to a pistol like a wa shan sawn off double barrel shotgun, that would definitely make you stand out.:D

are you looking for a c02 or gas pistol ?
    i have a tauras pt 99 and a friend has a 1911
tauras is great if you like full auto such a kick :P
1911 has the nicest feel out most pistols i'v had a go of :)
its really up to you so i'd recommended going to a shop to feel the pistol and see if you like it :D

Any of the Taurus or tm ones would be my choice. I've a pt99 and I love it, its based on the beretta 92f, its big and chunk but I like that. And it has a nice ris rail on the bottom.

But co2 is the way to go, a lot less messing around with than green gas.

+1 on the Tokyo Marui MEU love! They're a great pistol - I've gone through quite a few trying to find one that's better. Sure, they're heavyweight ABS rather than metal, but you can get full after market metal kits for them - usually with full trades/markings.

The Maruzen p99 is also a good pistol - not as good as the TM in my opinion, but good nonetheless. I can't say that I find any difference in terms of grip between the MEU 1911 and p99 - sure, they're different shapes, but both are a vast improvement over stuff like the M9 - berettas are just to damn wide in the grip.

    Pistols, pistols, pistols...

Full metal, or metal? Full Metal means that anything metal on the Real Steel, is metal on the Replica. Whereas metal just means metal. For example, the FN Five-SeveN is a polymer pistol in Real Steel, and as such, the TM replica is not metal, but is full metal (everything metal on the real steel is metal on the replica).

After that, there's the matter of Blowback, or Non-Blowback. Blowback pistols have a functioning slide, which looks great, feels great and allows for a shorter trigger pull. The trade off is that it costs you in gas consumption. Non-blowback is much more efficient, quieter (unless it's the KJW Ruger Mk1) and more economical. The trade off is that it is nowhere near as much fun...quite literally.

Brands to be aware of with Pistols:
    - KJW: I think VERY highly of this company due to the reliability of their guns, and just very positive experiences I've had with their guns, and I own a lot of their pistols. On top of that you can pick up spare parts for cost direct from the manufacturer. Their main attraction at the moment is their CO2 Blowback 1911 and M9. Normally TM clones
    - KWC: Make excellent CO2 NBB pistols. Due to the small number of moving parts, there's very little that can/will go wrong. A lot of original designs
    - KSC/KWA: Renowned for superb replicas and good solid performance. I have only experience with their SP2022 - it's a nice pistol, but not exactly to my tastes...I'm toying with myself whether to pick one up or not. Their M9 is one of the few that has a working safety decocker
    - TM: They are known for making the best pistols around. Plastic bodies are the trade off, but metal kits exist if you are so inclined.
    - WE: Making huge improvements as time goes by, but they are the Fiat of the pistol world. I've only had one issue out of my two 1911's, and that was merely a sear spring needing fine-tuning
    - WA: High cost, accurate (in both replica and performance) and well thought of pistols
    - HFC: Were famous for their full auto M9 - stock everywhere seems to have plummetted, so I'm not sure if they're still available or in production
    - Marushin: Loads of original designs, but normally poor performance, but high quality replication
    - Maruzen: Pretty good reputation, especially for their Walther PPK

...I'm tired, and that's all I can think of. I hope this helps. What I would personally recommend is the CO2 GBB M9, or 1911A1, or 1911 Hi-Capa...if you can find the latter two.
