HI there, im in 6th year and just looking up courses on qulaifax,
so far i know for definite my number one course will be general science but i came across the course "Earth Sciences" and it looks fairly interesting, just wondering if anyones currently doing the course or has done the course just to tell me how theyre finding it and what they hope to do afterwards?

it says under Careers that teaching in a possiblilty but would that be second level?

To see if a course is acceptable for second level teaching, go to www.teachingcouncil.ie and click on 'List of recognised qualifications' to see if your degree is there.

If it is not there you must apply to have your qualification recognised after you graduate.

The earth sciences degree would also lead to primary teaching as it would gain you entry to the HDip in primary education. Of course you need a HC3 in Leaving Cert Irish or some equivalent qualification in Irish to do primary teaching.
