Packaging jeans for sale on eBay

I have two pairs of new unworn Wrangler jeans I'd like to sell. I was going to put them on eBay. The thing is how will I package them? I've checked my local Easons and they seem to only have large padded envelopes or those Post-It boxes you self assemble. I've gotten clothing from English eBay sellers and they seem to use a kind of plasticy stretchy bag like thing to send their stuff in. I've never seen anything like this in Ireland.

Basically I'm looking for advice from anybody who might have sold jeans online before. How do I package the darn things. Wouldn't brown paper be too flimsy?

You're going to need lots of masking tape, like a good few euro's worth. Lots of bubblewrap. An anti-static bag. Thats the bare minimum. :P

(Just stick them in a cardboard box, or whatever it will fit in, seal it with some wide tape and give it into the post office, they're only jeans )

You could wrap them in a black bag and tape them up well so they dont get dirty, thats all you need to do really i've done it few times with no problems..:)

OP, from your post, I am guessing you are talking about mail bags. I've gotten packets of these in Easons (O'Connell St) before.

Whenever I've sold anything on eBay, I've wrapped the item in a plastic bag, and put it into a mail bag (or padded envelope, depending on what the item is).

Yes, paper envelope/brown paper would be too flimsy imo, I've bought items from eBay, which arrived in paper envelope and more often than not, the envelopes were ripped/torn (which happened during transit).

Here is a link to the poly mail bags on Eason's website, I am guessing they have them in-store too, but I can't be sure.

That's exactly what I wanted! I'll email my local Easons and check if they have them (too cold to go out). Mail BAGS!!! Of course!!! :D Many thanks.

Have you worked out the postage? it will be quite high so you might find it hard to sell them. Looking on anpost, I would guess they will have to be classed as a parcel, and I expect it will be a little over 1kg, so to send this to say the UK is €22

    http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/PostalRates/Standard+Post.htm

and that is just standard untracked post.

    unless you go with couriers.

That's mightily expensive alright! I never thought it would be that high. I was going to sell one pair at a time and they're not very heavy so I would hope it's less. I'll take a pair to my local post office to find out for sure before listing them on eBay.

You can weigh them at home add 100g etc for packaging and work out how much the postage will be here:
