I am trying to get my Winamp remote app (aWARemote) to work but it doesnt seem to be happening. Can anyone tell me how to get my EXACT Ip and port as i have a wireless router and remember someone saying that IP's suggested by sites such as 'whatsmyip' are incorrect because of this. Anyone any ideas how to get this working? Cheers ;-)

Can't help with that, but Gmote is working fine for me-easy to set up.

start->run->cmd

ipconfig
whatsmyip is the ipaddress of your router - not your pc/laptop

Yeah gmote works perfectly for me. Does Winamp have any advantages over it?

gmote is alright . sometimes can be tricky to get it working on my laptop but in fairness it does work most times.

PRemoteDroid works well for me over wifi. Its supposed to work over bluetooth as well but laptop doesnt have BT

It's actually the external IP assigned by your broadband provider.

The IP you need should be 192.168.2.XXX

thanks fellas, i knew there was confusion about ACTUAL IP and the local server. Like when my phone places my location as a mile away when i am using wifi at home.

I use teamviewer for remote desktop. It's great.
