I have a Ford Fiesta 2001 1.8Td CAR-VAN. i hhave being getting trouble with heating system now for couple of months. Today i changed thermostat AND the heating control valve. all the pipes were hot except 1 which was the pipe on the left after the heater control valve. there still aint no great heat in van unless i do 70mph or high rev's.
Can anyone help with this situation please??

    Is the heater rad blocked?

Was gonna say heater control valve but you already did that - you did replace it with a new one, right? Had to replace it on mine a few years ago (no heat at all), but now it occasionally acts up - sometimes it gets hotter at high revs (as you experience), like when overtaking, or sometimes it just feels like going on full heat randomly - sounds to me like a control problem, but not sure if it's the valve or the hand controls (is it just a pot?) or something inbetween...

There are oil coolers in the newer version of that 1.8 diesel, Im fairly sure its not in the model you have. Did you get a mechanic to test if the heater control valve is getting the right voltage. How it works is, a module earths it every few seconds and that in turn opens the valve a bit everytime depending on what tempeture you have it on. I've seen the heater control valves fail a good few times but I have also seen the module an odd time fail as well. Might want to get someone to have a look. Easy to check it if you have a circuit tester. I'll tell you.

*Edit* Did you put in a second hand heater control valve?

Yeah i put a new heater control valve in! the mechanic told me tat it wil earth every half second when the heating is on half way! when i put the tester to the module it showed up 12 volt but no real pulse was to be seen on the tester! i mite get the ford mechanic to have look at it at weekend! thanks for your help!
