Hi all,

Rehearsal space share, last band broke up just before christmas so we need to fill the slot .
We have a mackie P.A system mics stands and pearl drum kit, its 5.50sq ft with Kitchen & toilet.
not far from the longmile rd/nass road.

Theres plenty parking, alramed and keypad entry with 24hr security patrol

200 euro a month gets you 2 nights a week or if you prefer to do one night a week then 100 euro a month

250 per month for 2 nights per week is not bad at all. especially if you had a band. you wouldn't get much cheaper in my experience for a place that was yours for 2 days and nights with lockup/access etc.

when you consider hiring a room is (around) 40-70 per evening depending on where you book (roughly 360-600 per month)

i'm assuming this Volt place wouldn't give you 24/7 (IE 7 days a week 24 hours!!) access for 250 euro??? and neither would many others

I'll assume "The Volt" is a business and thats fine but in our case we are a band that are leasing this place and only concerned about sharing the price, hence the title "rehearsal share.

Our main reason was the need for somwhere to leave our gear. if you want to spend 24/7 in a rehearsal room thats fine but for most bands I think once or twice a week is sufficient.

100 euro a month for a 4 piece band practicing once a week up to 12 hours each session if needed is not bad for 25 euro a head.
now I don't think thats a bit **** considering you can leave your gear there also which was a major headache for us at the time.

And even so for two nights 200 euro is alot of money. You can get office spaces for a little extra with 24.7 access.

So basically your saying that bands are good enough practicing once a week? so 4 jams in one month, for 100 euro? Sorry mate but thats a rip off and a half, and almost any lock up rehersal rooms you go to now you can leave your gear there no problem.

i stand corrected

though correct me if i'm wrong but that doesn't say how many nights you getand it also says it "starts" at 250 per month, so i'm assuming that's for your smallest/most poorly equipped/whatever room.

not commenting on Volt or anything, i'm sure they're absolutely amazing but jaysus mate, give up the ghost. its a decent deal. anyone can see that. sorry for hijacking the thread alabalascala...i hate when that happens

yes, 4 jams for 100 per month.

think of a semi serious band who want regular set up. they compare this to paying up to 70 per NIGHT (depending on when and where) for a one-session rehearsal room a few times a month and they realise... €100 per month for 4 sessions (€25 per session!) is a good deal...

where you get your "rip-off and a half" opinion is absolutely beyond me. You're way way off the mark pal.

All depends on what level or standard the band is at, some bands only practice when they need to learn new songs because they are booked out week in week out and then there are bands that are only starting out and need all the practice they can get so gettin back to "The Volt" yes great deal but I doubt anyband will practice 24/7.

So tell me this! if there was a rehearsal studio out there charging 25 euro for a 4 hour session would you say that was a rip off too?
