We're PAYE workers, joint assessed, do tax returns annually. Due to a previous tax return we had our credits reduced for 2007 by 647e. At the year end we did the tax return and the balancing statement shows that underpayment as paid, and we received a rebate of over 700e. Now 3 years later, Revenue have written to us out of blue and stated that the 647 is still owing. I can write to Revenue with copies of everything showing the figures, but just wondering is there something I'm missing. On Page 1 of the Balancing statement has the 647e is listed under "Tax Credits Reduced by 647e", on page 2, Panel 7B Adjustments lists the 647e as "Underpayment collected". Is the balancing statement not correct ? any help appreciated. tks

Check your balancing statements for 2008 and 2009 and see if the Tax office has deducted the overpayment
