Unemployed or recently redundant: LMA course funding available

Some of the users on this forum might be interested in the Labour Market Activation Scheme (LMA) which is currently funding up to 100% of the cost of some 3rd level courses.

For those of you that like to know what the catch is before going through the trouble of clicking on a link - the eligibility notice for applications states:

"Eligible participants must have been unemployed and on the live register for at least 6 months prior to starting the course or have an entitlement to statutory redundancy."

I was quite surprised by the range of courses (management through to electronic engineering to computer gaming courses to hospitality management): http://www.bluebrick.ie/lma/

I applied for the medicinal chemistry course in DIT and was told by admissions that I had to apply through the CAO. I also couldn't find any information about the courses on the DIT website, not sure if these are for real, or maybe they aren't available yet. Strange to have them open for application on blue brick when you cant apply.

Did you get any further responses here or have you decided to go another route? Would be interested to know what came out of this in the end.

The new courses will be announced in May on bluebrick.ie, they have been renamed springboard. Doing a short OU module at the moment, hoping to get on one of the new courses.
