Could an undercounter freezer sit safely on a countertop?

    Hi,

I am in need of some extra freezer space and am considering an undercounter freezer which I am hoping I could put on top of a counter I have free in our utility. I was looking at various ones and their weight is around 30Kg. (empty)

Does anyone know if an average fitted kitchen countertop (with cupboards underneath) would be strong enough to support it? The kitchen carcass is 18mm MDF and the countertop is the black granite effect coated chip/MDF.

I would rather go down this route rather than having to get someone in to cut the underneath cupboards in half etc.
