SEAI grant timing

    Hi all,

I'll probably ring them to get an answer, but maybe someone here can advise.

I'm considering making use of the insulation grants for wall and attic and the heating grant for boiler/control upgrade. At the moment I have a quote for the heating but not the insulation, and I wanted to think about it a bit longer.

However, my boiler is acting up a little and I suspect that it will fail soon (it's almost 20 years old so it's certainly due for retirement). So I'm wondering how best to proceed.

Could I apply for the heating grant, get it done in a few weeks maybe, then separately apply for the insulation grant, and use a single BER later to claim the refund?

    Ix.

Well to answer my own question, the SEAI advice is to apply for both grants, and then if I don't go ahead with the insulation to call them to cancel that part of the grant application.
