Have 01 mercedes and need to sell it as I cannot afford to run it anymore. It has no valid NCT and no tax as it hasnt been on the road for a while.

Should I get these sorted before selling it or what?

At this stage I just want it off my hands so I can get a cheaper car to run.

    Is it petrol or Diesel?

    What size engine?

    Milage?

    How many owners?

    Which model - C/E/S Class..??

    Service History?

    How many owners?

Is it worth saving? (You don't give much detail)

Take the car to NTC test, then if it fails, just inform what was the reason for failure when selling the car.

Much better option than just to sell the car without the test at all.

sorry am in work trying to keep posting minimal.

    C200 Coupe, 2.0 petrol, 80,000miles, 3 owners, FSH.

Has a brand new ignition barrell and brand new key. Driver window wont go down but this can be fixed for €180 well thats the price I was given my a mercedes agent.

Should I sell as is or get it fixed up and then sell it?

Driver window not going down is a definate fail of the NCT so you are paying 50 quid without a hope of getting the cert. 180 sounds pricey just for a window so see if you can get that cheaper from a non dealership mechanic. I wouldn't bother going near a main dealer with a 10 year old car.

okay. its not a mian dealer, he is an authorised agent for mercedes.

yeah suppose you are right. ill bring it to someone else see what they say.
