I have just moved into a new apartment which is wired for UPC but when I rang them up it seems the previous person only had the TV package and they arnt opperating for broadband in the area yet. They said its coming but they dunno how long it will be.... Has anybody else had the same problem? Will I have to go with UPC for TV and someone else like eircom for Broadband then??

I'm in the area and UPC have 20mb broadband package available and I think this will be upgraded too

I'm surprised at your post, should definitely be possible.

    Maybe call and ask again

    Hi FeelingStressed

Are you in Chapelizod itself or nearby because from what I see on website its available in dublin 18,22 and 24 just not 20 which includes Chapelizod and Palmerstown. Islandbridge, Kilmainham etc seem to be covered???

Steeples estate, closer to Ballyfermot,(the snobs gave it a Chapelizod address ;)) up by the pitch n putt club if you know it

So not in the village itself but less then 1km away

My address is Dublin 20, I am very, very suprised if you can't get it in the village. I realy would call them again, that info on the website may be out of date

The map explains a lot, the Ballyfermot edge of Chapelizod is covered but the actual village isn't yet

    Ah well

Cant go with Sky because I cant put up a satelite dish and dont think sky will work on UPCs wring so looks like its going to have to be UPC for TV and eircom/Smart for Broadband....bit of hard work but might go a mth without internet and just get the TV in and can add broadband to my contract then maybe......hmmm not liking the bad review for UPC but I dont really have a choice now

Only problem I have is with customer service, just make sure you document everything then you should be fine! Make sure you get everything in detail!

I also moved into chapelizod at the weekend & I am trying to source a decent broadband service, hoped to get tv/broadband package from upc but as you discovered they don't provide in this area yet
Can anyone recommend a decent wireless provider that does not require a landline? I was onto wimax/imagine today but after looking on boards today I see they are getting rather bad reviews! Really don't know who to go with!
    All advice appreciated

Went for the O2 Wifi option have 7days to return it if it doesnt work good enough in the area but last night had 2 laptops and an iphone working off it grand. Could browse web, facebook and watch RTE player fine so think its a good option. Just have to check work laptop speeds off it now n ill be flying cheers :)

Yea same problem. Went with Magnet 24mb + UPC Max/HD.

Just wish we could get sky, cause there are so many more HD channels and other cool features with Sky. not to mention the interface :/

Maybe we could together ask for a communal satellite dish..?? that would be awesome! ;)
