Why is Toy Story 3 up for Best Adapted Screenplay?

It's not like it's based on a book or anything, Pixar create the story, screenplay and films inhouse last I heard.

Yeah, but it's a sequel which means it doesn't qualify for best original screenplay. The characters etc were created for the first film.

Its nice to see Naomi Rapace get a nod. I think she suffered from having a film come out very early in the year.
Would have liked to see Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Kidman in there too (in place of Julianne Moore)

I hope Tom Hardy wins the rising star award even though he should have got a supporting actor nom for Inception

Delighted Colin Firth got best actor, hope he gets the oscar too! The Kings Speech is a class movie, and it's totally wiped the board. Deadlyl!!!!!

It was pretty funny when they messed up,and who she was went straight to the winner instead of the nominations. She didnt know what to do,Johnathan Ross was very fast in stoping her.

Really liked The King's Speech and everyone likes Beethoven's 7th symphony, but giving it best music (based purely on that I'm assuming) over Zimmer's work on Inception lacked credability imo.

The Baftas aren't remotely credible imo, same way the Oscars aren't. Everyone votes for their mates.

Pleased Chris Morris got an award, and I wasn't surprised at The King's Speech sweeping the board, this is the Baftas after all. Sort of puzzled at Tom Hardy being classed as a "rising star" though, surely his star has already well and truely risen.

Helena Bonham Carter? She was fine in her role but really?

I felt the same about Geoffrey Rush's win - Christian Bale absolutely deserved Best supporting Actor

When that happened, I assumed it was related to the screenplay award they were presenting and the mix-up was planned to be a joke about not having a good script.

But in the end, it just seemed like Rosamund Pike was a bit stupid!
