Ring the garda and turn on the bedroom light. I know its not excatly the rambo thing to do but its happened to me 5 times at least, its only a car and the scum could have anything from a syringe to a gun. Not worth it imo.

I'd call gardai and then go outside taking pics and tell the thief to f**k off that the gardai are on the way.

If they're alone on foot I'd follow them in the car on the hands free to the gardai. If they have an accomplice in a car I'd just get the plate number and let the gardai know.

Print off pics and drop them into neighbours and local shops then warning about car thieves in the area. As well as posting pics on boards of course.

Assuming he gets the car I would get a good picture of him in my head and try to find out where he lives. I would let months pass by, as you may be sure he stole some more. Spot him one late night, put on a balaclava and take his head off with a baseball bat.

Not log onto AH expecting to get advice in time to do something about it.

I would go out with my trusty 2 foot extension bar from my tool kit and give them a chance to flee. If not ill do what is necessary to protect myself from intruders. Most likely I'd keep them there until the police arrived.
