Plumbing dishwasher waste into sink?

    Hi everyone,

I've a problem with the plumbing shared by our sink and dishwasher.

The dishwasher waste/drainage pipe connects to a side connection on the sink, but this has never been properly plumbed in, so to use the dishwasher we have to take off the connection which stops any water leaking when the sink is being used, then of course we cannot use the sink as the drainage pipe from the dishwasher does not seal to the connection.

I went to b and q and got a kit to install it, but it was the wrong size (the connector which closes the side connection the dishwasher drain goes into is 35 mm and in b and q it was a 30 mm connector for the pipe :( ) Anyone know where I can get the proper connector?

If none of the above makes sense, then if you look at the link below, where they have the side connector with the ability to connect a dishwasher drainage pipe to it, we don't, either we close it with the connector we have or we use the dishwasher with the drainage pipe shoved in.

Apologies for the unclear post, if anyone can advise where I can find the relevant piece of connector that I need that is 35 mm I'd appreciate it :)

Ay decent plumbers stores or builders merchants will have all the parts that you will ever want or need.

    Shouldnt be a problem.

Heres a 1.5 Sink/Bowl setup with a non return dish washer waste connection.Grey flexi pipe is the dish washer waste pipe.;)

Non return means that water and waste cannot go back to the dishwasher,so it prevents machine overflow and flooding.

If your dishwasher is connected to anything like the traps the lads have posted have you tried taking the bayonet connection off and checking to see if the blank was taken out.
