I wish to undertake a CELT course very soon hopefully, But I don't hold a degree, How much will this affect my chances of gaining a place on a course held in Ireland, What will I have to provide in order to improve my chances of gaining a place on a course againast someone who does hold a degree. Any information you have on this subject I would be very grateful

One ACELS course provider has this to say on this issue:

    PLEASE NOTE:
Degree requirement: Trainees who do not hold a third level degree must note that they will not be eligible to teach in Ireland as Department of Education regulations state that all teachers must hold such a degree in addition to a TEFL certificate. Preference will be given on this course to applicants who hold a degree. (http://www.annaliviaschool.com/annaliviaschool/main/TEFL.htm)

    Another says this:

    Entry Requirements

Candidates should be at least 21 years of age and hold a university degree or equivalent (minimum Level 7 according to the National Qualification Authority Ireland (www.hetac.ie)

Candidates without a degree must sign a waiver precluding them from seeking employment in the quality recognized sector. In this case a CES certificate will be issued. Non-native speakers may be admitted provided that their level of English is equivalent to that of the Council of Europe's Mastery level C2 (Proficiency). (http://tinyurl.com/5uj6cm2)

    Another has this to say:

To join a teacher training course applicants should hold a level 7 NQAI qualification (e.g. a primary degree). This is an essential requirement for applicants who wish to teach in ACELS recognised schools in Ireland.

Those without level 7 NQAI qualifications may be accepted onto the course but will not be able to receive an ACELS validated award. Successful applicants in this case will receive a certificate of completion issued by Atlantic Language Galway.

All applicants will be required to do a short interview and complete a language awareness assessment before commencing a teacher training course.

    And this:

Candidates must hold a HETAC Level 7 qualification (equivalent to an ordinary degree) in order to obtain the ACELS Certification. Candidates who do not hold a HETAC Level 7 qualification can undertake this English Language Teaching course, but will receive a Dorset College Certificate only.

In other words, you'll get on to an ACELS course, but you'll not get the ACELS qualification without that basic degree. You'll probably also find out about jobs abroad from whatever course you decide to finally do.

So is the course still recognized by completion even if I don't have any degree, Will it reduce my chances in any major way of gaining employment over seas.???

I think not having your degree will reduce your chances more than a CELTA/TEFL course.

OP, the vast majority of legitimate and worthwhile teaching jobs overseas generally all stipulate that you must have a degree in order to satisfy their visa requirements. There are perhaps some countries where this doesn't apply but I'm sorry to say that in your situation, the bulk of job offers wouldn't be open to you without having a degree. Don't give up, someone else reading in here might be able to point you somewhere you could teach overseas without a degree.
