€1,000,000 missing from DJ Carey's business

    A Garda and a Revenue investigation are under way, according to “The Mail on Sunday’s Crime Correspondent, Larissa Nolan , into the case of a ‘missing’ €1,000,000 from the accounts of DJ Carey Enterprises, the firm formed by the 40 yrs old Kilkenny Hurling legend and his ex-wife Christine. According to the ‘’Mail’ the investigations have come about as a result of a complaint by DJ against his sister, Catriona Carey 32. Catriona herself a noted Hockey International and elite Camogie player, was a Partner in the firm until she stood down in March 2009. The investigation began about a year ago after funds of up to €1m could not be accounted for in the firm they ran together. The Revenue has also been asked to look into the matter by Carey, 40. At the time the company’s auditors were unable to affirm the accuracy of its most recent accounts, ‘whether caused by fraud or other irregularity’.’
