you need to do the truck theory test first. then a medical.

you would be better off going for the full C license. with the full C liciense you are entitled to the C1 as well.

when i went for my C license my company paid for everything so i cant tell you how much it cost but you could be looking at upto E1000 depending on the number of lessons.

i got 5x2 hour lessons and a pre test in finglas because i did the test in finglas. i found it helped to get to know the area around the test center before i did the test. the number of lessons depends on how quickly you are able to adapt your driving style to a much lager vehickle.

one final thing are you doing this to get a driving job you will need to do the CPC course and then get a digital tachgraph card.

all in dont expect change from 2500 euro.

Yep I spend about that last year, the bloody list adds up!

Lessons, Theory Test, Medical report, CPC Theory Parts 1&2, Driving Test, CPC Practical test, Digital Tacho Card, Passport Photos.

OP, I don't know your circumstances but if you are in reciept of social welfare you can get 9 hours of lessons free through FAS.

It mightn't sound much but an hour lesson is an average of around €50-55 so 9x€50 = €450!! It's a start!

op even if you manage to get the licence your going find it hard to get a job at present as there is alot of experienced drivers(artic drivers) out of work.
Alot of companies/agencies also require you to have at least two years driving experience on Irish roads:eek:( I know how can you get experience without a job),As some of the lads have posted regarding the costs etc it is a small fortune to invest in yourself then to be paid the same as someone working in a fast food chain/conveiance shop.
