Ok guys dont post in this forum much but looking for a little bit of advice, Mods's if this is a repeat thread please delete as appropriate.

I've been using Paddy Power for as long as i've been gambling and am thinking of taking on another bookie. I've never had an issue of any sort with PP but would like another account where i can start to build up another bankroll. My bets would generally revolve around football, American football and NHL. NHL probably gets about 70% of my bets. One of the things i like about PP is being able to withdraw straight back onto my laser card, very easy and very quick.

So my question is what other online bookies would you guys recommend for the kind of bets i go to, and ease of withdrawel would be a plus too.

    Any and all advice welcome.

    Thanks.

I was like yourself and was using paddy power when i started betting online.I now have around 6 or 7 different accounts which is what i think you should do you will get free bets when you open up new accounts and you would be surprised with the difference is odds on different sites you should use oddschecker before placing a bet so you can get the best price.I would suggest bet365 if you're only looking to open one new account i think it's best for the in play market but it cost nothing to open accounts so you should open as many as you can just for the free bets.

Just check if they have an expiry date on them when you first join up.

I find Betfair are excellent pricewise, better than paddypower anyway. B365 do a good sign up bonus but make sure to carefully read the terms of whatever the bonus is. Not a fan of their website though.

I must say I pretty much only use Bet365. They are not scared of dishing out the free bets, I get one a month I would say - I reckon its on number of bets placed as even when I am winning all around me I keep getting them. They also have a Channel 4 offer, if you back the winner in the selected race they give you a free bet to the same stake in the next one(as far as I know). Bet365 have a smashing racing archive going back years and they show RUK and ATR races and it's free. They also do loads of live events and to watch a race you ony have to bet €1 or €0.50 EW.

I opened an account a few years ago and got a around €120 in free bets.

I closed my Paddy Power account as no matter how much gambling I did not a sign of a free bet and it took them long enough to do GP.

I won't ever bet with William Hills again, I went into the one in Pearse Street and did a treble and a fourfold, the fourfold being the treble selections and one more. I went up to the counter and asked to take the price on one horse which I thought would shorten(no odds up in the shop), put the betslips in my wallet and off I went. All four won so I went back to collect I was given my winnings and they were short around €200, I queried this and the auld tart had only put the odds on the treble and left the fourfold at sp. I pointed this out and she said you never asked for it on the fourfold, I said I did when I handed them both to you and I pointed out the time on both slips was only 3 seconds apart. Well I thought you said only on the treble and there is nothing I can do about it now, grrrrrrrr.

I know I should have checked but when she had it on the top one you would assume it's on both.

PP were one of the first bookmakers to go GP.

When you factor in commission, liquidity, first past the post in horse racing, money back specials, etc.., you'll find that in many case the exchanges do not offer value over a traditional bookmaker.

The BetFair theory that they are excellent price wise is a myth in many instance.

I know I should have checked but when she had it on the top one you would assume it's on both

    Why would you assume that?
You could have wanted the Treble at earlies and the accum at SP?
If the SP was higher you could have queried it and said you didn't ask for EP on the accum.
The BetFair theory that they are excellent price wise is a myth in many instance.

These days there's so much competition between bookies, the prices are as close to Betfairs as makes no difference.
Granted you mightn't get the full amount on but you won't pay any commission either.

I guess when you ask for something on BOTH and you see it on the top one, you ASSUME she has done BOTH as you requested. Hence assumption.

asked to take the price on one horse which I thought would shorten

Nothing in your previous post to say both?

Id actually agree in so far as racing and golf are concerned. In terms of football betfair are still streets ahead.

Thats a very general statement and ultimately not true........Look at the w/e gone,Lampard was 11/5 with Powers to score in 90mins, but was 11/4 with Betfair, only one example I know but thats a huge price difference. As with everything Its worth shopping around.

What was the liquidity on BetFair @ 11/4?

Here's the read on several sites I've lots of experience with. If you back to win rather than e/w and your selection is 8/1 plus then Betfair or Betdaq is best by at least 2 points (usually). If your choice is 4/1 or less its often best to avail of Paddy power or Boylesports, both give great service and when you take a price they'll pay on the best price. So will Bet365. Betpack no longer do. I also had an a/c with Celtic. When they went, I got a cheque for the balance, no problem,
I didn't even have to ask for it. I've had phone accounts with Ladbrokes and Hills but in truth never liked them but others will find value there. For friendliness, assistance and special offers Paddy Power is best but Boylesports is also good. For value Betfair is better than Betdaq but you will pay close to 5% commission. It is good to have more than one a/c, but having more might mean you'll back more and that might not be good.
