No, it will not improve your signal. Improved signal will do very little for you anyway. O2 have poorer speeds than Three in many areas, so you may have just moved backwards.

At times i get full whack which is somethin i never got with 3 (when they weren't down).the playstation seems to pick up the router best when placed beside it but my best signal is in the hall and and when i leave it there the signal to the ps is inconsistent.would the hotshot have better wifi coverage from one room to another? Thanks again.:)

As I already said, no, it will not. Wifi issues can be cause by interference, range, poor router, poor receiver, walls, etc. Any of these, or a combination of them all, could be causing your problems.

It should do as they are both WiFi devices. With mobile broadband you can get poor latency (ping) and depending on the game you are playing this can lead to a poor experience. Best to try it and bring it back if no good.

    Hi

The Globesurfer has a much better Wifi broadcasting strngth than the Hotshot. If you are having problems with the Wifi signal then look at whats around it. A dect phone base station (Wireless phone) or another Wifi device can affect wifi if they are too close together. They have to be at least 2 meters apart for interferance not to be an issue.

The broadband reception for the Globesurfer will also be much better than the Hotshot as the antenna in the globesurfer is very high spec.
