Driver Other Cars extension - <25

Anyone know what insurers, other than Quinn, provide DOC for drivers under 25? I'm 24, full licence for ~5 years and 3 years NCB, 123 who I'm currently with don't do it.

My fleet insurance from work doesn't provide it any more and I'm going to have to shortly "mind" my sisters car while she's out of the country; adding myself to her policy would be tortuously expensive if even possible because of the car in question. My renewal is relatively soon so I'll change if price is within reason to get DOC back; otherwise someone else has to mind the car.

It will still be insured under her policy, I'm not trying to get away with driving it solely on a DOC extension.

Quinn don't offer it to under 25 no more.

Marvellous... although I have other, very damn good reasons for not wanting to give them any money.

Wasn't impressed! When i rang brittons in donegal town they quoted me similar to Quinn but the DOC extension was for over 21s(still no good to me(20)) but don't know what company that was. Give them a ring maybe?

My policy documents (policy bought in August) don't say anything about an age limit on it, only that I need a full licence and permission from the owner.

I asked specifically about this three or four times to three or four different agents and they all said that it was no longer offered to customers under 25. Mine was bought late september, could have changed in the period between.

I rang them in late november about this and they said I was covered to drive third party another persons vehicle with their permission. I asked him about the 25 age limit and he said that there was no limit as I had a fully comp policy under my own name so I was covered. Could be a different story if you were involved in an accident driving someone elses car whilst under 25

Hmm, I'm going to call them about this tomorrow so as I'm also fully comp in my own name...

Could someone who's been told they do do it, and took the policy, actually check their insurance cert? It should have a note under the vehicle(s) insured section...

The dates being given are very conflicting, and seeing as Quinn are coming in by far the cheapest I may have to sell my soul - if they do DOC.

I actually renewed my policy with them over the weekend, so should get my new cert in a few days. I'll check it then to see.
