Was the obvious choice and the correct one if all the players on the tour actually want him to be the captain. Roll on Medinah and another European victory.

    Ozzy?

Yeah, I hope my other mates Rors, Poults, Paddy Harro and Westy can do the biz for him.

Hang on, I'll just text them now.

Agreed, he'll have to play his way on this time. Interesting to see if Olly sticks with the 3 wildcards or goes back to 2.

Last few years have been terrible for Olazabal with fitness and so on, so at least this gives him something to focus on for next 18 months.

Looks like Davis Love will be his opposite number.

Watched him on the driving range at Baltray the year Lowry won. It was on the practice day and I watched him hit irons for a good 20mins. They were like lasers. It was almost like every ball was landing on top of the last and he was as consistant with the 4 iron as he was with the PW. Seriously impressive. Got my photo taken with him too. Nice fella. Good luck to him at Medinah.

Himself and Tom Watson are probably the greatest iron players I have ever seen. Best of luck to him because it will not be easy in the States.
