I didn't know whether to put this in motoring, politics, banking or charity - Seanie Fitz's old car is on CarsIreland.ie. Thought it was for sale first but they're actually auctioning the chance to be the one to crush it. All proceeds to the Samaritans which is appropriate as Seanie has I'm sure caused a significant increase in calls to them I'm sure.

I'd bid if Seanie was going to be strapped into the car for the event!

How does paying over the odds for the chance to crush a car that belonged to someone once upon a time make sense?

In all fairness, a 92 E36 saloon with no NCT or insurance, and mouldy, PROBABLY means hes driving something else now.

Are we a nation of ****tards altogether?

I think its likely that the buyer is just looking at it as a charitable donation. Nothing wrong with that.

the least they could do is put an effigy of him in there, then play a tape of someone screaming as it's being burnt and crushed.
Yes, they will have to burn the crusher to satisfy me. Seanie's evil is strong!

they should give it to brian cowen and demand he is driven around in it. it would do the exact job his big merc would do of getting him from a to b but wouldnt cost the tax payer as much

presumably it's one of his childrens' cars.

You don't get to be CEO of a bank so you can drive a sh1tbox like that

    From Irish Independant:
During the boom, perhaps his only visible extravagance was his black, fuel-guzzling Mercedes CL 500

Ive seen pictures of him at his golf club with his CL500, 08 I think & approx €150,000 new.
This whole circus about the sh1t box BMW is a joke.
