Problem with HD box, loss of signal etc. Help!!

Switched on HD box, tv says "loss of signal" but on front of box it says "init" for the initial set up. I press ok and "set up" is written on the front of box but nothing on tv. So I can't get into the set up. I've been using this box since last April. Has this happened anybody else? :(
